35th Anniversary & Season Kick-Off Party

This weekend marks our first cycle of goal-setting for all athletes. A goal is something you try to accomplish in a specific period of time. Goal setting can be an excellent way to build your confidence and motivation and provide you with a focus for training. Goals drive motivation, so people direct their energy into achieving specific things.

Athletes and coaches will create skill-based goals for the first 4-week cycle of the winter season. An example would be:

  • Learn a 180, 360, 540
  • Slide a box/rail or learn to spin out of it
  • Keep feet together in the moguls
  • Properly timed pole plants
  • Building stamina to ski a whole run without stopping

This weekend marks the first WB Park Riders event of the season! It’s an early one!

All athletes are permitted to enter the event. We will work to provide coaching at a 6:1 ratio. Registering early helps us plan as WB shares the registration list with us.

From WB about the event:

Registration will open this evening at 5 pm. Don’t miss the chance to be a part of an incredible day of shredding on the slopes.

The snow conditions are challenging at the moment, but with a newly revised jam format, we are confident you will have a great time. Our dedicated Park team is working hard to create a Mini-Big Air take-off for the event. This feature will not only be large enough for you to showcase your favourite tricks but will also cater to those new to park riding competitions, giving them a taste of the exhilarating experience.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store for the day:

– Two Judged Sessions: One for U10 & U12 and another for U14 & U17. Show off your skills and compete against riders in your age group.

– Optional Non-Judged Jam Session: Wind down after the competition with an optional jam session. It’s all about having fun and enjoying the slopes.

– Prize-Giving Ceremony: The day will wrap up with a prize-giving ceremony, where we’ll celebrate the podium winners and plenty of draw prizes – make sure you stick around to claim them.

For full event details, head to Eventbrite.

We look forward to seeing you on the slopes!

Park Riders Registration

Freestyle Vancouver has set up a special registration for Whistler athletes. They also have a special club rate for passes to Grouse Mountain. This is a great way to get training in during the week if you are in the city or Squamish!

Freestyle Vancouver is able to acquire athlete passes for 90$ + tax!

We are super excited about this partnership! All registrations need to be completed by December 14 evening to be able to process the current pass price.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Our Winter Break Camps are available for registration at the link below. These are a great way to get extra coaching at the start of the season.

We particularly suggest athletes planning on attending the Timber Tour or Super Youth Competition register for consecutive days to start building stamina for those events. These events are a long 4 days and take mental and physical toil. Practicing to train for 4 days straight is worthwhile!
